Quincey and Brady’s Cutesy and Demure Elopement

A love story for the modern age! So many elements of Quincey (they/them) and Brady’s (he/him) romance would be shocking to past generations. They met on Tinder, had a small elopement at Mt. Falcon park just outside Red Rocks, and are waiting until they are truly ready financially to throw a larger celebration. These modern elements are only part of the equation though, there are also the legal elements. Sadly, interracial marriage was not legal in the United States until 1967, and same-sex marriage was not legal nationwide until 2016. It was truly my honor to make sure their elopement was as special as it could be!

It is the great myth of the wedding industry that everyone has to have some sort of larger wedding, and that you must share it with others. The truth of it all is that, especially in Colorado, you can celebrate your love however you want with whomever you want! You don’t even need an officiant, in Colorado you can self solemnize your marriage certificate. This was the route that made the most sense for Quincey and Brady. For their big day there were 4 humans and Quincey’s childhood pup named Yogi present when they said “I Do.” They hired JayBird Events to take away all the stress off of securing the permit for their vows, finding an elopement photographer who fit their style, and to carry their chosen snack of Little Caesar’s pizza and bubbly wine to and from the car. After getting to know both of them it became clear that this was the quintessential Quincey and Brady Day.

Their elopement included photos with Yogi, private vows (if anyone knows where to find non-binary vow books please let me know!) shared with 360 degrees of picturesque views of the Rocky Mountains and the Denver skyline, and of course, stuffing their faces with delicious ‘za. You never would have guessed they were going to dinner with their families after! That is really the beauty of eloping in Colorado, you can make it yours without breaking the bank. In total the couple spent under $3,000 to become partners for life, which if you ask me is a great bargain with an amazing end result!
